Seed/Plant info: This is one pepper we don’t recommend chewing! The Bubblegum 7 Pot (aka BBG7 or Bleeding Bubblegum) was developed by Jon Harper in the UK, resulting from a cross between a Trinidad Moruga Scorpion and a Yellow 7 Pot. Its namesake comes from its unique characteristic where the red-pink color of the pod "bleeds" upward into the stem/calyx, a feature that develops as the pepper is left on the plant, which Harper initially thought resembled and tasted like bubblegum! While the pepper delivers exceptional 7 Pot heat and fury, it remains an unstable cross (unknown generation), meaning growers may expect some variation in the 3-foot-tall plants. Some pods have a longer shape while others are more round, but the foliage and stems are consistently dark purple. This variant, the Purple Bubblegum 7 Pot, maintains a purple color throughout its growth with subtle notes of red when fully ripe. Just like other 7 Pot varieties, it has brutal heat, so be prepared to set your mouth on fire if you decide to chew this piece! 90+ days to harvest. Capsicum chinense.
